Audi 2009

With a compressor Eaton four-lobe of improving the intake pressure to a maximum of 11.6 psi situation, married to a 3.0-liter V-6 makes A6 3.0T Quattro 300 hp and 310 lb-ft pair. It is basically the same engine that the future 333-hp 2010 Audi S4 with power supply.

Mash the gas from a stop, and the 3.0T has a linear force propels the 4114-lb sedan to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds, 1.5 seconds earlier than the old 255-hp, 3.1-liter -A6 Quattro hit that mark. Certainly, the xDrive BMW 535i and Mercedes E550 4MATIC are faster, but requires the BMW twin-turbo, and the Benz has eight cylinders. More importantly, he can not have the 3.0T 's is equal to 18 mpg city and 26 on the highway. One big surprise is that this new Audi is the future in the current V-8-powered A6 4.2 quattro, despite the larger engine 50 hp advantage.

BMW X5

BMW released details and pictures of the new BMW X5 Security Plus, which meets the requirements of class-6-level resistance. We are not very familiar with these classes of resistance, but we know what an AK-47 and obviously can, the new BMW X5 Security Plus withstand an attack with this weapon. The BMW X5 Security Plus has a new chassis that offers easy handling characteristics on and off road.
The BMW X5 Security Plus has a heavy armor, including moldings, high-performance steel plates, a tight joint protection, safety glass, shaken hard braking polycarbonate protection. The BMW X5 Security Plus offers protection against theft, kidnapping or carjacking, and can also be used in hazardous areas, where the bad guys are using AK 47s.

Audi 2010

This morning, Green Car Journal confirmed the five finalists up for nomination as the 2010 Green Car of the Year®, including the Audi A3 TDI, Honda Insight, Mercury Milan Hybrid, Toyota Prius and Volkswagen Golf TDI. The winner will be announced on December 3rd at a press conference during the media preview days at the LA Auto Show which, unlike last year, we’ll actually be attending. Also unlike last year, we find the majority of the nominees surprisingly fun to drive and genuinely deserving of the accolades (”majority” being the operative word, the jury’s still out on the Insight).
Unfortunately, our humble opinion will have very little bearing as the winner of this year’s prestigious award will be chosen by a star-studded panel of judges that in years past have included the likes of Jean-Michel Cousteau, Carroll Shelby, and the Crimson Chin himself, Jay Leno. We will, however, have the exclusive privilege of sitting somewhere in the back of the convention hall and straining to hear the ceremonial address as we try to get our new camera to focus, so check back later for official updates.

Audi 2012

Last week, we broke the news that the very thinly disguised “concept” known as the Audi e-tron was approved for production, but there was a catch. Contrary to what all exterior cues would suggest, the Audi e-tron would not be a plug-in version of the R8 but rather a sporty EV placed somewhere in size between the famed R8 and the compact TT. Today, we have learned that the e-tron will not be a model unto itself but rather a badge denoting the type of powertrain (similar to what Toyota has announced they will do with “Prius) and the first vehicle to wear the e-tron badge will be known as the Audi R4.
In addition to the lithium-ion e-tron, the R4 will also be offered with at least two other standard gasoline powertrains, though Audi has yet to reveal which ones. However, because the R4 is intended to sit on Audi’s line-up as a premium vehicle roughly equivalent in price and attainability to the R8, it’s safe to assume that output will be impressive and we could even see a TT-RS transplant.

Lotus Exige Scura

Despite the bevy of manufacturers that will be MIA at the Tokyo Motor Show this year, those that have elected to participate promise to make it worth our while. Topping our list of the vehicles we’re anxious to see is the the newest murdered out creation from Lotus, the Exige Scura. Not surprisingly, the name “Scura” is a loose translation of the Italian word for “dark” and is intended to reflect the ominous exterior aesthetic.
Aside from the Phantom & matte black paint finish, the bulk of the Exige Scura’s consuming presence is courtesy of more carbon fiber than even we, fiber fanboys (erm, girls) that we are, even dared to imagine. Thanks to the staggering  achieved by the aforementioned material, the Scura’s specs are just as impressive as its eye candy and Lotus says the Exige Scura’s 260-horsepower turbocharged 1.8L 4-banger is capable of reaching 0-100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. Further proving it more than worthy of the track, both Lotus Launch Control and Lotus Traction Control are standard features, as are Ohlins 2 way adjustable dampers, Eibach Springs with variable height spring platforms, matte black lightweight forged wheels and Yokohama 048 LTS tires.

McLaren

Despite featuring performance specs that would make a grown man weep for the sheer beauty, the is having difficulty earninga warm U.S. welcome. Originally, the highly-anticipated Ferrari-fighter was scheduled to make its first U.S. appearance at the LA Auto Show in December, followed shortly thereafter by its inaugu ral debut on dealer lots. Now, after a struggling market has left many dealerships skittish of six-figure commitments, McLaren is finding it all but impossible to wrangle a dealer network and has subsequently delayed the MP4-12C’s launch. Thus, contrary to earlier reports, the MP4-12C will not be featured at the LA Auto Show and likely will not see a U.S. launch until much later in 2010.

Camaro 2010

Hennessey’s massive first hit the scene back in June, and were are no less impressed with it today than were then. All the explanation of our fanaticism can be gleaned directly from its simplistic name: HPE700 LS9 Camaro. While it might be difficult for even your wildest fanboy to imagine, Hennessey Performance managed to eke a staggering 700 horsepower out of the Camaro, thanks entirely to the ZR1 LS9 engine sitting under the hood.
Underpinned by a 6-speed manual Camaro SS, the 2010 HPE700 expounds upon an already impressive performance record by swapping the standard 426-hp LS3 V8 with the new ‘Vette’s famous LS9 supercharged 6.2L. With the monstrous upgrade, output soars to 725 bhp at 6,400 rpm and 741 lb-ft at 3,200 rpm and supposedly allows the HPE700 to sprint past the 0-60 mph mark in a mere 3.5 seconds. If 700 horses seems to modest for your lofty run-what-you-brung aspirations, however, Hennessey also offers both a 800-hp Twin Turbo and a 1000-hp Twin Turbo upgrade package, the latter which you will be able to enjoy the full potential of exactly once before your imminent demise.

Jaguar 2010

With September over and fall fast approaching, it’s time once again to prepare for the season of crushing debt. All too happy to accommodate is the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, which every year features an exclusive edition of the coming year’s hottest luxury vehicle. This year’s debutante is the 2010 Jaguar XJL Supercharged Neiman Marcus Edition, which actually differs very little from the 2010 XJL scheduled to hit the U.S. early next year.
As a matter of fact, as often is the case with the the only features distinguishing the Neiman Marcus edition from the Filthy Plebe Edition will probably go unnoticed by everyone save for your valet and your in-house mechanic. The exclusive Celestial Black (looks Hella Blue to us) paint will likely be mistaken for whatever pedestrian OEM choice Jaguar offers and the unique leather and Zebrano wood accent combination probably won’t flutter any eyelashes at your yacht club, but the discreet plaque certifying your Neiman Marcus XJL as 1 of 50 will definitely make the $105,000 purchase worth it. Well, that and the 470-horsepower supercharged 5.0L V8 under the hood.

Alfa Romeo

The exact timetable for availability of Fiat, Alfa Romeo, or any number of other foreign makers finally making into the U.S. market changes based upon who you talk to; but if anything, the anticipation of their arrival certainly highlights the blandness with which we have grown accustomed to here in the States. Whether with theiror exhilerating 8C Competizione, Alfa Romeo could certainly not be accused of a sterility in style. With the latter example, the Italian automaker also demands to be as more than just a pretty face.

SUV Volvo 2010

Thanks to our dutiful following of VolvoXC60 on Twitter, we learned today that Rolling Strength’s revolutionary new crossover has made the list of finalists for 2010 SUV of the Year award. Of course to be fair, the was neither engineered or marketed as an SUV, but the majority of Motor Trend’s other finalists weren’t either. Given the current market and auto maker’s eagerness to distance themselves from the often negative stigma attached to SUVs, however, MT would be hard pressed to assemble a similarly lengthy list if limiting the criteria to only those vehicles explicitly billed as SUVs. Thus, the one aspect all the candidates have in common is ride height, multi-function capability, and an all wheel drive train.

BMW m3 gts

Just when you thought your reputation at the track was safely ensconced within the custom leather interior of your M3, BMW releases the M3 GTS. Outfitted with a rollcage and a six-point racing harness, the M3 GTS is designed to separate the truly discerning motorsport enthusiasts from the wealthy housewives/heiresses/frat boys and – the audacity! – doesn’t even come with an automatic transmission offering. As a matter of fact, the M3 GTS is a death sentence on 19″ M light-alloy Competition rims for the hardcore poseur, which could be the primary reason BMW as no plans to introduce it to the North American market.

BMW 135i 2011

Taking another stab at truly entry-level luxury, BMW has confirmed their to introduce the 135i M Series in 2011. Aside from the official announcement, little information is known about BMW’s new M other than that it will be a significant break from Motosport nomenclature tradition thanks largely to the M1 due out in 2012.

Apparently, despite the fact that M vehicles sales took quite a beating this year thanks the miserable economy, BMW has apparently judged the market ripe for the mini M’s invasion. We will have more on this story as the information is released.

Vauxhall 2012

The revolutionary Vauxhall Ampera will be the first electrically driven automobile with zero-emission capability in Europe that’s suitable for everyday driving. With its Voltec electric propulsion system providing lively acceleration and high levels of refinement, the five-door Vauxhall Ampera seats four passengers in comfort, offers a useful boot for their luggage, and features an extended range of more than 300-miles.
While driving on electricity delivered by the battery, the Vauxhall Ampera emits zero CO2. When the battery’s energy is depleted, a petrol or E85-fuelled engine-generator seamlessly provides electricity to power the electric drive unit while simultaneously sustaining the charge of the battery. This mode of operation extends the range for several hundred additional miles, until the battery can be charged via a standard household 240v outlet.
The nearly silent electric drive unit delivers 370 Nm of instant torque, the equivalent of 15bhp, zero to 60mph acceleration in around nine seconds, and a top speed of 100mph. Based on current fuel prices, Vauxhall predicts that the Vauxhall Ampera will cost roughly one-fifth of the current cost per mile of an equivalent petrol engined car.
